An authentic work of art that combines tradition with the passion of a lifetime.

The handmade rotunda "Paprika" is a rare example of the famous folk art from Kalocsa, Hungary. It is an heirloom that was crafted 45 years ago, when I was living and creating in Hungary, and is part of my personal artistic journey.

The Art behind the Handicraft:
Every detail is hand-painted directly onto the fabric and then embroidered with the traditional flat stitch . The design follows the classic Kalocsa palette: cheerful, bright colors, flowers and the characteristic red peppers (paprika) on a white background. The finish is embraced by a wide handmade lace , hand-knitted with a crochet hook and pure cotton thread.

This piece is one of a kind and is intended for high aesthetic decoration and “figure”. I invite you to try to count its thousands of stitches – only then will you realize the effort, patience and passion that went into perfecting it. There is nothing else like it on any market in the world.
